ElvalHalcor received the Business Excellence Award at the "Diamonds of the Greek Economy 2020" award ceremony, held on July 15, 2020, at the Hilton Athens Hotel. The event was organized by New Times Publishing, awarding "diamond" companies from the entire Greek business spectrum, in the presence of representatives of the State, the country's leading business entities and business executives.
The event was attended by a limited number of guests due to coronavirus protection measures (COVID-19), applying a special health protocol of hosting, while it was broadcast live on the internet (via live streaming).
Regarding the recent coronavirus crisis, after receiving the award, Halcor’s Assistant Financial Manager Mr. D. Kaforos, said that ElvalHalcor and its subsidiaries responded quickly to the new pandemic data, prioritizing the health and well-being of their employees and partners, while successfully implementing social distance measures without disrupting production activities.

We are proud to announce that our brand new, four-stand tandem aluminium hot rolling mill has initiated its operations at ElvalHalcor’s Elval aluminium rolling plant at Oinofyta, Greece. The installation is part of a EUR 150 million investment in equipment, technology and infrastructure, which represents the first phase of the Company’s five-year plan to double its flat rolled aluminium products capacity.
This crucial investment also paves the way for new, more demanding markets, such as the automotive and aerospace industries. At the same time, it significantly enhances the plants energy efficiency, reduces specific energy consumption and total carbon footprint, contributes to saving valuable resources and time and also optimizes the metallurgical process as a whole.
