ElvalHalcor announces that its Aluminium Rolling Division (Elval), is the first Greek aluminium manufacturer that certifies its production facilities against the ASI Chain of Custody Standard

ElvalHalcor announces that its Aluminium Rolling Division production facilities at Oinofyta (Elval) have been certified to the ASI Chain of Custody Standard (CoC). The certification audit was conducted by DNV Business Assurance Services UK LTD from June 30 – July 1st 2021 and resulted to full certification.

ElvalHalcor is now the first Greek company to certify its aluminium production facilities, Elval, to the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) Chain of Custody Standard, as last year was the first one and still is the only one in Greece to certify its facilities against the ASI Performance Standard.

The ASI CoC certification allows ElvalHalcor to offer its customers ASI-certified aluminium products, ensuring that they originate from material that has been sourced and processed responsibly, in conformance with the criteria set out by the ASI standards, in every stage of their manufacturing process. The ASI CoC certification, confirms ElvalHalcor’s commitment to responsible production and development.

Mr. Lampros Varouchas, General Manager of ElvalHalcor Aluminium Rolling Division and Executive BoD Member stated: “We are very pleased to receive the ASI Chain of Custody Standard certification, an important achievement for our sustainability programme. Building on the sound ESG practices that we have long established in our production facilities, this certification allows us to offer to our customers ASI-certified aluminium products, manufactured from material sourced and processed within the responsible supply chains that are certified by the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative”.

The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standards initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Chain of Custody Standard, complements the ASI Performance Standard, and sets out requirements for sourcing and production of ASI-certified aluminium in the entire aluminium value chain.
