"ELVALHALCOR HELLENIC COPPER AND ALUMINIUM INDUSTRY S.A." ("ElvalHalcor" or “the Company”), pursuant to Article 17 paragraph 1 of Regulation (ΕU) 596/2014 of the European Parliament and the Council of 16th April 2014 and Article 2 paragraph 4 of Decision No 3/347/12.7.2005 of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission, following the 11 February 2020 press release regarding the initiation of the EUR 100 million, second phase of its five-year investment plan, announces that has ordered a new, fully automated lacquering line to be installed at the aluminium rolling division - ELVAL of ElvalHalcor.

After having successfully commissioned a new modern four-stand tandem hot rolling mill on December 2020 and having ordered a state-of-the-art six-high cold rolling mill according to the Company’s 2nd phase investment plan execution, ElvalHalcor has decided expanding the infrastructure of lacquering and pre-treatment lines at the Company’s facilities at Oinofyta, Greece. This investment comes as a response to the recent increased market demands, the result of international trends for lightweight, recyclable aluminium packaging and durable, safe, recyclable and friendly to the environment building and construction material. The new lacquering line, operating at 200 m/min and capable of producing 2,050 mm wide aluminium coils will enhance the production capacity of the aluminium rolling division – ELVAL in order to meet the increased market needs.

 

The new coating line confirms that the aluminium rolling division -ELVAL of ElvalHalcor, is committed to sustainable and innovative aluminium solutions for beverage and food packaging markets and establishes its position among world-class aluminium flat-rolled manufacturers with a significant contribution to the aluminium value chain.
